How It Works

We will use Zoom for chat, and play Minecraft Education together – we provide you with login details for a free Minecraft Education license that you can use for the camp (it will not be available to use after the day of the camp). The day runs from 10.30am – 3pm

. We will keep the Zoom link open all day, including during breaks, allowing you to chat and join and leave as you please. Scheduled screen breaks are also incorporated for your convenience. The camp runs from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM and is hosted by Rachel of Creative Active Lives and Global Minecraft Ambassador Dan Noble.

We start the day with a group movement activity, a Minecraft themed scavenger hunt around the home. During the morning we will play hide and seek in a special Minecraft world, and then experiment with block coding to make strange things happen in your Minecraft world, led by experienced Minecraft tutor Dan.

After lunch we will talk about Minecraft and build together in a Creative world.

IMPORTANT: You cannot access this session via Xbox/Switch/Playstation. You can only access via a PC/laptop, tablet or phone. Check these system requirements before booking.

VERY IMPORTANT: ensure that you have downloaded, installed, AND logged into Minecraft Education successfully BEFORE the day starts. DO NOT wait until the morning of the holiday camp to do this – as your child will not be able to join in the session when is starts and might be very upset! We can help with any problems BEFORE the day of the camp – but NOT on the day of the camp as its not fair on the other children.

Remember – you must be a member of DigiTribe to join these sessions. Membership is free but you must have a Zoom verification safeguarding call with the team to join. Book your verification call here.

What is the cost?

The full-day is £20. The Zoom link will be emailed to you a couple of days before the session along with anything you might need to know or download in advance.

What Happens During the Day?

1030am – 11am (ish)	Welcome, Minecraft themed Scavenger Hunt, play Hide and Seek in Minecraft Education	We will email out the list of items on the scavenger hunt so we can make sure everyone has the items on the list – anything you haven’t got around the house let us know and we will remove from the list.
Break
11.15am – 12.15pm	Make strange things happen in Minecraft using block coding.	Experienced tutor Dan Noble will teach how to use block coding within the Minecraft game to make strange things happen.
1 2.15pm-1.15pm	Break for Lunch
1.15pm – 2.15pm	Creative Building Together	We will join a Creative world together to build whatever our imaginations come up with.
2.15pm – 2.30pm	Screen break!
2.30pm – 3.00pm	Minecraft Chat/Hide and Seek	Let’s talk about Minecraft and whatever else you are interested in while we play another game of hide and seek together
